Our name, White Pine Investments, reflects our investment philosophy of patience, optimism, hard work and trust in long-term growth.  As one of the tallest species of tree in the US, the White Pine starts as a seedling and rises to be the dominant tree in many of our landscapes. The metaphor for the growth of our assets is appropriate, as we have successfully guided clients toward their long-term goals.

 

The peace of mind we give clients comes from our emphasis on a “value-driven, disciplined approach.” This means paying strict attention to fundamental analysis of financial data as well as remaining objective and diminishing the emotional influence to which many investors succumb. “Value-driven” also means applying the concept of owning growing financial securities priced at or below their intrinsic value.

 

Reducing risk is just as important as seeking return.  The true quality of an asset manager appears in times of market distress rather than market euphoria.  Patience, discipline, confidence, humility, and hard work will ensure risk is properly managed from year to year.
